Spikes Show- Who is Spike Albrecht?

For anyone that tuned into the Michigan and Louisville game last night you HAD to notice #2 on Michigan. Yes Trey Burke was on the bench for most of the 1st half. Why though? Well it had something to do with "Spikes Show'!

First of who exactly is Spike Albrecht? Heck i had never heard of him before the game and I try to learn the bench players a.k.a. walk ons for most of the college teams. Spikes real name actually is Michael. He obtained the name as a kid because he would always wear cleats all over the place because he was always ready to play a sport! This kid is a competitor! The University of Michigan lists Albrecht at 5'11 and 170. The typical bench player guard for a division 1 college team. If he was in D2 he would most likely be a starter and racking up the stats.Albrecht is from Crown Point, Indiana if anyone was wondering.

If anyone out there happens to be under 6'0 and is wanting to walk on, i suggest you look at the University of Michigan. You want to know why?

JOHN BEILEINs' BASKETBALL BASICS
  • Trey Burke gets 2 early fouls
  • Beilein realizes that he can't lose Burke for the rest of the game
  • Enters Spike Albrecht who averaged about 1.5 PPG for the regualr season
  • goes off hitting first 3 shots that were from 3 point land
  • finishes the game with a career high 17 buckets
  • lands a gig with MTV for a new show ironically  called "SPIKES SHOW"
  • Becomes a youtube sensation with the a dance named after him- " Swaggin' like Spike"
Okay the last two are not true( at least as of right now but you get the picture)

Once Trey Burke goes pro, nobody will be worried about finding a replacement because last night they found their new starting point guard for the Wolverines. Be sure to follow this guy on twitter at: https://twitter.com/SpikeAlbrecht

Dont forget to tune into ESPN tonight at 10/9 CST to watch " How Spike became better then Trey Burke"(just kidding!) ahahhaha

Until next time,
Seth Largent a.k.a DJ sk002

Peace
